Formed, Not Condemned
What if the trials, conflicts, and uncomfortable moments in our lives aren’t simply things God wants to remove—but moments He can use to form us?
In Episode 7 of the Low Capacity Leader podcast, we look back at Genesis 14 and the story of Abram and Lot. The conflict and war in the passage reveal something deeper: where Lot had chosen to live and the compromises that had slowly taken root in his life.
But the conversation goes much further.
We talk about the difference between condemnation and formation, and why God’s goal for our lives is not simply forgiveness or avoiding hell. We were saved from something, but we were also saved to something—to be formed into the image of Christ.
We discuss:
• How conflict can reveal what is already inside us
• Why God is more concerned with forming His people than condemning them
• The difference between following rules and being led by the Spirit
• Why we need to say “yes” to God before we spend our lives saying “no” to temptation
• How sin deforms the image of God in us—and how Jesus restores it
• What Jesus meant when He said, “Give to God what belongs to God”
• Why the church should feel more like a household than a stage
• How authenticity, not performance, creates space for ministry
• Why even uncomfortable moments can become opportunities for God to shape us
The goal isn’t simply to make sure we’re going to heaven. The invitation of Jesus is to come follow Him—to walk with Him, surrender to Him, and allow Him to continually transform us into His image.
