Lift Your Eyes, Keep Walking
What does it look like to actually trust God when His way is harder, more uncomfortable, or different from what we would choose?
In Episode 6 of the Low Capacity Leader Podcast, Pastor Kris Kilgore and Pastor Amber continue walking through the story of Abram in Genesis 13 and explore what happens when we allow God to lift our eyes and redefine what we call valuable.
Abram and Lot looked at the same land, but they saw two very different things. Lot allowed what looked valuable to determine his decision, while Abram waited for God to speak. From there, the conversation moves into the uncomfortable places of faith—learning to trust God’s perspective, stepping outside of comfort, and allowing God to determine the direction of our lives.
The conversation eventually leads to a powerful picture: faith has footprints.
God told Abram to walk the land He had given him. That walking wasn't merely a one-time action—it became a lifestyle. What would it look like for us to continually “walk” the promises, responsibilities, relationships, homes, churches, and places God has entrusted to us?
We talk about:
• Why separation can bring clarity
• The difference between an easier life and a better life
• How discomfort can keep us from spiritual apathy
• Why our actions reveal whether we truly believe God knows more than we do
• Letting God—not culture—define our treasure
• The importance of staying aligned with where God has called us
• Putting “feet to faith” through action
• Leaving spiritual footprints in our homes, churches, and families
• What it means to establish and defend the boundaries God has entrusted to us
Genesis 13 reminds us that sometimes God doesn't simply tell us where to look—He tells us to lift our eyes, see what He has given us, and walk it out.
Keep walking. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep leaving footprints.
